Vijay Chavan,who was a acclaimed figure in the Marathi film industry, breathed his last on Friday morning at the age of 63.
Vijay Chavan expired after a prolonged battle with a lung disease. He was hospitalised in Fortis hospital in Mumbai’s Mulund after a prolonged illness. Reportedly, the multi-talented actor has left us for his heavenly abode early this morning.
He was known for his character roles in Marathi films and plays like Jatra’, ‘Zapatlela’, ‘Pachadlele’, ‘Mumbaicha Dabewala’, and ‘Shrimanta Damodar Panta’. However, his most famous role was ‘Mavshi’ from the play ‘Moruchi Mavshi’.
He also pocketed the prestigious accolade, V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.
Notably, the actor has worked in over 350 films both Hindi and Marathi.
